Bunk Beds Buying Guide
A bunk bed stacks two beds on top of each other, so two children can share a room and still have space to play. It is also a great way to fit in an extra bed for sleepovers.
Types of bunk beds
- Standard bunk beds: two 3'0 single beds, one above the other, with a ladder to the top bunk.
- Triple sleepers: a double or wide bed below and a single above, so three can sleep in one room.
- Bunk beds that split: some can be taken apart into two separate single beds, so they last as your children grow.
Wood or metal
Most of our bunk beds are wooden, in solid pine, white, grey and natural finishes. We also have a metal triple sleeper with a mesh base.
Safety and mattresses
- As a general safety guide, the top bunk is not recommended for children under 6.
- Bunk beds are sold without mattresses. Choose a mattress that is not too deep for the top bunk, so the safety rail stays well above it. If you are unsure which mattress to choose, ask us before you order.
- Bunk beds arrive flat packed and need basic self assembly.
Measure your room
Check the height of the bunk bed in the size table and leave enough space between the top bunk and the ceiling for a child to sit up.
