Sofas Buying Guide
From compact 2 seaters to large U-shapes, a sofa sets the tone of your living room. Here is what to think about before you choose.
Size and seats
Our sofas seat from 2 to 7 people. As a rough guide, allow about 60cm of sofa width per person, and leave space to walk round it. Corner and U-shape sofas give the most seats for the floor space.
Comfort and features
- Recliners: electric or manual reclining seats, many with USB charging and adjustable headrests.
- Sofa beds: fold out into a bed for guests. See sofa beds.
- Chaise: a long seat to stretch out on, on many corner sofas.
- Removable cushions: easier to clean and plump up.
Fabric or leather
Most of our sofas are fabric: chenille and plush feel soft, velvet looks rich, boucle adds texture. A few are leather or faux leather, which wipe clean easily.
