Zip & Link Beds Buying Guide

A zip and link bed is two beds that join into one. The mattresses zip together and, on our bed sets, the divan bases join with easy-link brackets. You get one large bed, or two separate beds whenever you need them.

Why choose zip and link?

  • Flexibility: use it as one large bed now and two single beds later, for a guest room, a hotel room or a move.
  • Easy to get in: two halves are easier to carry up stairs and through narrow doorways than one large bed.
  • Extra long and extra wide sizes: ours come in lengths and widths you will not find on a standard bed.

Bed sets or mattresses

  • [Zip and link bed sets](/collections/zip-and-link-bed-sets): two divan bases and two mattresses, with your choice of fabric, storage and an optional headboard (it comes as two identical headboards).
  • [Zip and link mattresses](/collections/zip-and-link-mattresses): the two mattresses on their own, for a zip and link bed frame or bases you already have.

Sizes

Our zip and link beds come in 5'0 king size and 6'0 super king, each in a 6'3" or 6'6" length, and in a 7'0 x 7'0 emperor. Many of our other mattresses and divan beds also come in a 6'0 super king zip and link size: choose it from the size options. Comfort

The mattresses in this range are medium, with pocket springs and memory foam, and some have a pillow top or gel layer. They are single sided, so there is no need to flip them: just rotate them with the seasons.

Zip & Link Beds FAQs

What is a zip and link bed?

A zip and link bed is two beds that join into one. The mattresses zip together and the bases link with brackets, so you can have one large bed or two separate beds.

Can a zip and link bed be used as two single beds?

Yes. Unzip the mattresses and unlink the bases, and you have two separate beds. If you add a headboard, it comes as two identical headboards.

What sizes do zip and link beds come in?

Our zip and link beds come in 5'0 king size and 6'0 super king, each in a 6'3" or 6'6" length, and in a 7'0 x 7'0 emperor. Many other mattresses and divan beds also come in a 6'0 super king zip and link size.

Will I feel the join in the middle?

The two mattresses zip together closely to make one sleeping surface. A mattress topper over both halves smooths the join further if you sleep in the middle.
